40th Annual Conference

Approximately 300 aviation professionals will be attending educational sessions and informational forums and will be networking with aviation-related governmental entities, industries and organizations.
Keynote speakers at this year’s conference include the Honorable Senator Robert Stivers and the former Commander of the International Space Station, Astronaut Tim Kopra. Conference sessions will provide up-to-date information on handling airport emergencies, airspace considerations dealing with the growing use of unmanned aerial systems, enhancing the safety of aircraft approaches and airfield operations, and complying with environmental regulations. Representatives from the Kentucky Department of Aviation and the Federal Aviation Administration will be available to discuss current issues and airport funding considerations, and featured speakers will include Governor Matt Bevin (invited) and Secretary Greg Thomas with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Also, Major Yanick Gregoire, Snowbird 1 Team Lead, will provide a thrilling and insightful overview of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds air display flight.
Throughout the Conference, industry suppliers and contractors will be available at individual exhibition booths to discuss their products and services. On Wednesday afternoon, the Kentucky Department of Aviation is sponsoring an Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Air Safety Seminar.
